How to enable automatic redirects?
To enable automatic redirects in the Swift Redirects app for Shopify, follow these steps:
1. Access the Swift Redirects App
- Go to your Shopify Admin Panel.
- Click on Apps from the left-hand menu.
- Select Swift Redirects from the list of installed apps.
2. Enable Automatic Redirects
- Click on Settings from the left-hand menu.
- Toggle Automatic Redirects to Turn On to allow the app to automatically redirect broken links (404 errors) to new or relevant URLs.

3. Set Up Redirect Rules
- You may have options to:
- Redirect to the Homepage for all 404 errors.
- Match Product/Collection Handles (auto-redirect old product/collection URLs to new ones).
Note: If you enable Auto-fix 404, any new broken links (404s) will automatically be redirected to the default auto-fix URL you’ve assigned.
This setting only applies to new 404 errors. Redirects you’ve already created — whether through Resolved Redirects or Pattern Redirects — will continue to work exactly as you’ve set them up.
4. Save and Test
- Click Save Settings to apply changes.
- Test by visiting an old URL to confirm the redirect works correctly.
5. Monitor and Manage 404 Errors
- The app may log 404 errors in a Reports section. Regularly review and manually adjust redirects if necessary.
